Vantaggi

Amazing coworkers, patients, and families.

Svantaggi

Positive Steps has an incredible amount of turn over. They tend to prey on new grads, pay them very little, and burn them out until they finally quit. I’ve witnessed coworkers spending their own money buying resources because the office had hardly any materials. Coworkers would stay an hour or more later each night finishing paperwork after a 10+ hour day. The company needs to train managers and have better hours and working conditions to keep quality therapists. Families have been fed up with the amount of turnover.

Vantaggi

The new management of the company who started last year has been working hard to make positive changes in the company related to benefits, education, documentation, etc and have already started implementing changes! I have also been given opportunities for leadership that I would not expected with just 3 years of job experience. The staff in the company are all so welcoming and a pleasure to spend time with, no matter what office you are in!

Svantaggi

Sometimes you are asked to help cover other offices for maternity leaves, etc but they strive to make sure the office is logistically close to you!

Vantaggi

Great coworkers Wonderful patients and families

Svantaggi

This company is very focused on making money at the expense of it’s therapists and staff. The high productivity and limited documentation/prep time in addition to long hours (10-11 hour days) burns out great therapists quickly. The office I worked at has been through 9 different therapists in under 3 years. The company insists on the “team approach,” but the teams have limited opportunities to collaborate. The team approach is also not beneficial for every child. This company will also expect you to “flex” hours to your scheduled days off to cover at other offices in the event that you need to take time off or the office closes for the weather rather than taking inclement weather time or PTO. Many children receive co-treats, especially between speech and OT which can be great! However, some children are scheduled as co-treats for scheduling purposes rather than being medically necessary. I was expected to see children who did not require or benefit from co-treats at all just because it was the only time they were able to be seen due to the limited availability of the schedule. Therapists are also expected to document during sessions which is virtually impossible with certain patients. There is a huge disconnect between therapists and upper management. Center and upper management do not take your concerns seriously or make meaningful changes. They need to focus on keeping good therapists as the families are frustrated when therapists are constantly leaving.
