1) Some departments have limited career "laddering," so if you want to grow your skills (or your salary), you have to look outside of your department for opportunities to advance. This isn't a great option if you like the work your department does and would prefer to grow within the department. 2) Leadership is very careful with the company's expenses (a good thing), but some areas of the company need more staff and the budget to hire them is not there. Many departments are asked to do more with less, leading to periods of employees feeling overwhelmed. 3) The company is also incredibly innovative and strives to be agile in the marketplace (again, a good thing), but if you don't like change, this is not the company for you.
