Culture of disempowerment from leadership down. You will be hired for your expertise, but no one cares what you think. We’re here to do whatever the CEO wants - not that anyone knows what that is. If you guess wrong, you won’t be fired, but expect to be gaslit and humiliated by your superiors, usually in a public forum, and then made to do 10 more iterations of whatever you’re working on with no more direction. Things may get done eventually, but they will get done so painfully and inefficiently that you will be left asking yourself if it was worth it at all. And through all of this, never expect a raise, promotion, or additional staff/resources for your team.
