Vantaggi
None that stood out during my time with the company.
Svantaggi
In my experience, the software department suffers from poor leadership. Managers and assistant managers appeared to have limited technical knowledge beyond older technologies, leaving little opportunity to learn or work with modern tools.
The company relies on an outdated technology stack with very limited opportunities for technical growth or career development.
Promotions and career advancement did not appear to be based primarily on technical skills or performance. Workplace politics seemed to play a significant role.
Micromanagement and favoritism were common.
The work culture was toxic, with unrealistic workloads and little support from management.
There was almost no structured training or mentoring for employees.
HR did not appear to act independently. In my experience, employee concerns were not handled transparently, and complaints often did not result in meaningful action.
Employees were expected to provide support outside normal working hours, including Saturdays, with poor work-life balance.
Salaries were among the lowest I have seen for similar software roles in Sri Lanka.
I would not recommend the software division, particularly for women, based on the workplace culture I experienced.
There was very little transparency in management decisions.
