The company was going through a difficult transition post-pandemic, but the dedication to pivoting to continue the public health mission is admirable.

A highly skilled and talented team of self-starters consistently achieving results quickly. This team develops exceptional tools and software for public health and community healthcare. The business has expanded from public health contracts to increasingly robust commercial offerings. It has also established a clinical practice to support new remote healthcare models.

After the pandemic, several public health partners lost their ability to fulfill commitments to incorporating our solutions into long-term public health response efforts for multiple diseases. This lack of follow-through contributed to a series of layoffs in 2023, resulting in a workforce reduction of approximately 70% from the company’s pandemic peak. These layoffs were distressing, and external restrictions on discussing the overall situation made it difficult to reset expectations with staff openly; some staff were understandably and rightfully upset. We sincerely apologize for this challenging period and hope that, upon reflection, staff can better understand the circumstances. I have had time to reflect on what happened and have learned how to approach this better in the future. The public health sector is an unstable environment marked by politics, limited funding, broken procurement processes, and frequent leadership changes. These issues hinder the ongoing use of proven solutions and present significant challenges for businesses in this field.
