Vantaggi
Working with children doesn’t feel like work, you’re playing In all your sessions. Which makes work fun but also goes by quickly.
Svantaggi
There is just too much paperwork involved with this job that it’s not worth it. Reports every 4-6 months which are frustrating to write because they have to be worded a certain way. The worst part is that nothing changes in the reports because the clients aren’t making changes or meeting goals that quickly. On top of reports you have daily sessions which add up and your list of session notes seems to be never ending. The building is old and super outdated. It needs more than a new wall and paint job. The toys and materials (computers, printers, anything tech related) provided aren’t sufficient for all the employees there and are also beyond outdated. According to the managers they are “up to date”. The way the department is ran; it’s very high school. There are cliques it feels and always tension. You never quite feel supported by your supervisors or boss. You also never feel like you’re on the same team and can come to them for anything, if anything you just feel like you’ll get scolded for needing any help. There is also very little room to grow here, you’re pretty much just stuck being a DI & if you want to move up I suggest you apply elsewhere.
