Vantaggi
Flexible Scheduling. Lots of available shifts if you want them. Non-Union: no mandated shifts. Thorough hiring/vetting, with team interviews of applicants. Highly-skilled, experienced workforce. Primarily Self-Directed Work. (Very difficult but very rewarding.) Pre-approved overtime work was always paid and breaks encouraged. Management always willing to address and solve workload disparities.
Svantaggi
"Feast or famine" waves of patient census. Sometimes impossibly heavy workload/sometimes not enough work. Lack of racial diversity in non-support roles and upper echelons. Strong resistance to corporate change from the top down made transitions harder and more complicated than they needed to be. Tight-knit cliques of long-term employees, some of whom were close personal friends of managment. There was an "in crowd" in this office. Gossip by some employees about others was upsetting to overhear and inhibited communication and a sense of inclusion. Favoritism in hiring - friends of employees and known entities took priority. Management seemed quite uncomfortable bringing in people from outside the fray. Very casual environment/verging on unprofessional: strongly opinionated political conversations taking place around you. Noisy open plan office with lots of chatter. Inappropriate conversations (ex: zero sexual harrassment but sexual topics) for workplace. Boob-flashing, as a joke, but still....
