The pay is really low compared to similar positions at other companies. Thus, the art deparment is constantly understaffed. Designers and art directors are extremely overworked, resulting in continuous crunch time from mismanagement of resources. Design feedback from management is very vague, impatient, and is often contradictory to itself. Solid designers that have there for years are stuck at the associate level despite consistently positive output. It's not uncommon to have members of the sales team screaming insults at art directors. HR is limited and hasn't been able to stop this from happening. Employees on the production art team exhibit inappropriate outbursts and have difficulty adapting to new changes. Meetings can be difficult since most of the team is unable to regulate their emotions, resulting in shouting and catty behavior. The floor will be calm until members of the team get into disagreements and they begin yelling and arguing (often over politics or sports.) There is extreme favoritism with new hires bearing the brunt of the work while long term hires do a fraction of the work, are difficult to work with, and spend their time chatting instead.
