You absolutely cannot take your PTO. They are so short staffed and do not plan accordingly even when they know there will be FMLA shortages for months. Management are often people who cannot even work the bench, so there is not help there. Quest would rather force mandatory OT at 1.5x pay than hire PRNs. There is no work life balance. Expect to work any shift at a moments notice. Expect to be held personally responsible for coverage. With the risk of sounding hateful, incompetent patriarchy. Men scratching men's backs. LIS is terrible. I don't know how a company gets to this size with such rickety old technology. Sunquest should have been discontinued years ago. Everything IT is farmed out to cut costs and it shows. Software and interfacing is full of so many glitches expect to babysit every single test that comes through. Urine tickets don't print. Blood gas tickets don't print. Expect to do management stuff without the title or training because they cannot keep management.
