A good program director is worth more than your pay and having a good team of frontline workers is a wonderful morale boost. The individuals we support are wonderful and make it feel less like a job and more like an enjoyable day spent with friends.

Pay isn't worth the job. Upper management is full of toxicity that spews down onto the frontline workers. If you get sick, do not expect any sympathy from HR; they will not help you but will make your life very difficult until you quit. If you work well, they will encourage you to become a manager but to do so is to commit career suicide, No one lasts as a APD because of the pressure and unwritten expectations placed on these poor people. If something goes wrong, frontline workers will be blamed even if it has nothing to do with them. There is no such thing as a work/life balance unless you enforce that boundary firmly. Finally, Darci Fencer and Laureen Guilderson are two people to never trust. They are liars who will do and say anything to cover their own selves while hanging you out to dry. Get anything and everything discussed in writing. I am very disappointed.

Mistakes are teaching moments not punative. This company wants you to succeed. There are many teaching moments and great bonuses at least 3 times a year. The clients are interesting and you can really get close to them.

Administration is not the same as when I started. All the good ones have retired and the ones who have moved up in their places are not good. The clinical director is very book smart but is not a people person and is a huge liar as is the HR director. The company can’t keep Program Directors because of the Clinical Director which makes morale very low among the rest of the staff.
