Vantaggi

The company will continue to keep lying to wall street and to the employees about future expectations. This ensures decent pay and quarterly stock awards. Company has the uncanny ability to have hundreds of Directors, VPs, and SVPs. Title hungry should apply.

Svantaggi

The stock will never go past $20. If you do not care then you are not in a leadership position. All the great leaders have left. If you are an SVP or VP at RealPage then I have little respect for your ability to have a similar title and compensation at a growing company.

Thank you for your post. The analysts are predicting and expecting the stock to rise beyond $20 a share this year, and with sound operational excellence it will. We have strung several strong quarters of performance in a row and it is up to all of us to perform to get the stock higher. While the value of the company continues to rise, we all would like to see the stock price follow suit. I can assure you that no one is lying to Wall Street, we give guidance, and then work hard to beat guidance. I do know that some very capable people up and down the organization do care about this company and in time the stock will rise. You have to step back and ask yourself what can I do each day to out perform the competition and be operationally excellent. I disagree that all the great leaders have left, your not seeing the commitment that I am seeing. Many of us came here that were not in the industry and were very successful in previous lives. I joined Freescale Semiconductor (6 billion in revenue) when it was left for dead in 2005, we turned it around, went IPO at $14 a share and sold it 2 years later for $40 a share. Daryl Rolley had a similar story at Ariba. I can assure you that we are all working to get the stock price up. Its not a question of if it will rise, it certainly is a question of when. I would't give up on this company. Another data point we should keep in mind is our main competitors do not offer public stock to their sales teams. The fact that we do and the stock has value to you that would seem to be a positive thing to consider. Also please remember that we just hired 6 top sales reps from our competitors in the last two months. Why, one of the reasons is they were able to gain stock. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Vantaggi

Good engineering tooling. Talented engineers and teammates. Flexible remote work.

Svantaggi

I ran one of RealPage's larger engineering product teams for three years, hiring and developing more than half of the engineering managers and engineers on my organization. I believed I was building something that mattered. Instead of promoting the person already doing the work, leadership hired a lateral engineering manager alongside me. Over time, responsibility stayed with me while authority and support shifted elsewhere. I became the person expected to absorb every problem. My first manager used me to fill every gap instead of developing me. I was expected to handle support, incident response, production releases, coding, architecture, project management, and people management—all at the same time. My second manager sidelined me, criticized me, and focused on replacing me instead of developing me. I was once told I was "lucky to be useful, or I wouldn't still be here." That statement summed up the culture. Leadership expected constant availability while frequently being unavailable themselves. When leadership was out, I was expected to cover. I spent over a year supporting both U.S. and India time zones, making true time off nearly impossible. RealPage has incredibly talented people, but talented employees cannot overcome a culture where managers are consumed instead of developed. I loved building teams. I just wish the company had valued the people who built them.

Thank you for sharing such a candid and detailed account of your experience. We're glad the engineering tools, talent, and flexibility of remote work stood out positively, and we take seriously what you've described about being stretched across responsibilities without matching authority or support. No manager should feel they have to absorb everything alone, and your point about developing managers rather than overloading them is well taken. We'd welcome the chance to understand your experience further—please consider reaching out to your HRBP so we can address this directly. Thank you for the years you have invested in building your team.
