Vantaggi
-Working with incredible and talented people - I like how we're able to innovate so much despite also over-achieving on satisfying all that regulatory red tape -Can be genuinely proud of the products you develop because they're high quality and helping people, whether it's general sleep health or COVID. -Doesn't feel like the '9-5 work you're meant to dread' tbh. This has been way more fun than uni surprisingly. Feels like an episode of brooklyn 99 -Work from home! Flexibility! A lot of autonomy.
Svantaggi
-Unfortunately - like with any med-big sized organisation - there will be politics. Probably just have to ignore it or just play along and humour mgmt a bit. -Lack of much POC representation in leadership -Career development is really hit and miss because we don't have a clear, standardized process. I find that you can over-achieve, over-volunteer and be genuinely passionate, but if you do mess up (not technically, but in communication/expectation mgmt) it will be held against you for career progression, and there is no pathway to repair that. It hurts, but you just have to learn to be transactional with the company to look out for yourself. -Our on-campus cafe. It's the single thing keeping me from coming back onto campus.
