Vantaggi
Work outside in Garden Department at a big box retailer. If you LOVE working in a garden, this job can be a dream! You will often work independently and hours are somewhat flexible--however, you must be consistent. Great opportunity to help others, usually, shoppers.
Svantaggi
Not allowed to water the live goods (insurance?), even though they (live goods) are your ward. Seasonal work means your hours dwindle and become moot (apply for unemployment benefits in the hope you will be rehired next year). Many deliveries and you are responsible to place the goods, sometimes right at going home time. Also, carpal tunnelers syndrome developed from repeated lifting and reaching. More responsibilities given while hours are cut and there is NO advance notice. Without any direct supervision, you must figure out what is to be done and how to do it. Hot, sunny weather makes work difficult. Bathrooms are a loooong walk away---so it water. Lack of connection with the actual employer because you work at a store, alone, with that store's employee base and this can be overwhelming when customer's need something you do not have access to. When hired on, expect to bounce around to different locations because they have more work in early Spring--the rush is over by summer and the lucky ones stay on with about 17 - 22 hours per week (and these hours are sometimes split between two workers).
