When the software works, it’s incredibly powerful and impactful. Compensation was strong compared to industry standards.

The organization is extremely dysfunctional. Re-orgs and structural changes happen every few weeks with little warning or clarity. Leadership has made questionable hires over the past year, leading to growing internal issues and office politics. Collaboration is lacking. Ideas are often dismissed unless they come from the inner circle. With the exception of the Chief Revenue Officer and maybe the Chief Product Officer, the leadership team lacks real experience and it shows. The newly implemented variable pay structure ties a significant portion of employee compensation to hitting KPIs. Leadership claims this is “industry standard,” but from my experience, it feels more like a cost saving measure. Notably, the same leaders who enforce this change are not held to similar variable pay requirements themselves. The product suffers from heavy technical debt and frequent performance issues. Management experience is wildly inconsistent. Some managers and team leads are overly controlling and micromanage to an exhausting degree, while others, sometimes even within the same department, are an absolute dream to work with. Your experience can really depend on the luck of the draw.
