Company culture feels very much like family. There is a general feeling of being a part of something good. Good for staff, good for guests and good for community, with a desire to always get better. This is no greedy mega-corporation, but a genuine company full of real people figuring out how to grow and spread the love without losing their soul. Employees tend to stick around for a long time, but It is big enough that there is always opportunity for superstars.

Change is inevitable but doesn't alway feel good. The recession brought some pain to Rio and things had to change. What was once a free-wheeling, can't-do-anything-wrong success story, became a big awkward behemoth that struggled to find it's balance and direction. Operational and management structures of the company changed and for better or worse, the personality changed with it. The company survived and now appears to be pulling itself out of the funk and pressing forward for more growth. Despite some growing pains, Rio is probably still one of best restaurants to work for.
