Vantaggi
- Good pay: Pay was good when offered back in 2022, not sure about current offers - Great Teams: Everyone you work with (or most) is very passionate about Rivian/sustainability/etc and is very smart and competent and in most cases easy to work with. You genuinely feel like a team.
Svantaggi
- Awful work-life balance: RJ and others preach work life balance but this does NOT get translated downstream/to managers. My manager expected me to be on call pretty much. Was working 8am to 6/7pm some days. But this is dependent on your manager, I had two previous ones that respected my personal time/did not expect me to work as much as they did (aka more than 40+ hours) and it was great while it lasted - Criticism is not welcome. If you mention you are unhappy, overwhelmed, etc. you become a target for getting laid off. They have you complete quarterly reviews where you can provide honest answers but I would advise against this. - Favoritism on the team plays a HUGE role in who gets promoted, laid off, etc. Related to the criticism part, you really do not want to get on your manager's bad side ever. - Little to no growth opportunities, only to move laterally but never up really. - Very unorganized, was asked repeat questions/had the same situations/exercises come up constantly but didn't really mind - Forced relocation to California (for those that work in supply chain at least), just not worth it since they've laid people off who have moved out there for them.
