Vantaggi
This place is probably fine if you just need a foot in the door for a marketing career someplace else.
Svantaggi
As you can see from the fake reviews, this place has no moral backbone. The owner fancies himself a big wig because he has a handful of clients who work for big companies. The reality is that these big companies call him because he has a reputation for turning projects around quickly. Respectable agencies have existing client relationships - with things like long term roadmaps and goals - and those big companies know that respectable agencies can't turn around an entire set of content deliverables overnight, so they call SCORCH instead. Speaking of overnight, if you work in the creative department, you will be expected to work late. If you are given a project at 3pm, you will be expected to stay until 8pm or 10pm or later in order to get it done. No exceptions. The owner will, at one point or another, say something to the effect of "if you can't stand the heat you shouldn't work at SCORCH". Clever guy. (sarcasm font) The pay is very low here. Even with years of experience, you will not be paid more than 35K. Again, this only applies to people in the creative department. I have no idea if it applies to people in account management or other areas of the business. Also, there are no benefits whatsoever except for vacation time, which you will never be allowed to use. The leadership is non-existent. The "management" is a team of the owner's high school buddies who mostly focus on sales. They have been saying for years that they will be hire actual leadership, but it never happens. The one person who was hired (only one person that I am aware of, anyway) quit after a couple weeks on the job. Do not be fooled by the handful of interesting client projects. The projects are sporadic and your work will be chastised until you no longer recognize it as your own. The owner is a micromanager and always has to put his touch on every creative deliverable. It's no wonder this company has such high turnover - both with employees and with clients.
