Vantaggi

- The agency works with top brands across beauty, tech, retail, beverage, and more, which means there are some truly incredible opportunities if you’re ready to work hard and care about the craft. I was able to work on my dream clients and campaigns, moments the world saw and felt really exciting to be a part of. - The agency is made up of insanely smart, savy, dedicated, creative people who are not afraid to go against the grain. I was able to learn a lot by just being around them on how to push ideas further, manage teams, and think about culture, media, and storytelling in a new way. - The agency's pace and variety of projects/clients gives you the chance to work on things you might never expect, which helped me grow quickly and gain experience across multiple areas like team management, creative, and media.

Svantaggi

Like many fast-moving agencies, there were occasional busy periods that required some extra time to keep projects moving forward.

Vantaggi

Mainly remote, supposed to go in one day a week but no one really enforces it.

Svantaggi

If you are someone who doesn’t care about having a life outside of work or who wants to make your job your entire personality, you’ll probably do fine here. For anyone else, I would not recommend. As many others have said here, SHADOW very much feels like a cult. Case in point, one of the founders goes by “Papa Shadow” on the company-wide Slack – yes, really. It is like a “family” – if your family was dysfunctional, toxic and verbally abusive. One of their supposed core company values is “use your voice,” however, that didn’t seem to apply to the many employees who raised concerns about the SHADOW-led Sydney Sweeney x American Eagle and Matt Rife x ELF campaigns before they launched. Those same employees were then forced to lead a company-wide “what went wrong” seminar while the executives who had actually made those decisions sat back silently. The agency environment will never be easy, but this was one of the worst and most hypocritical I have encountered in my career. I wish I had paid more attention to some of the red flags in the interview process, but I truly felt it couldn’t be worse than some of the other agencies out there. Sadly, I was wrong.
