If you're looking at this role, be aware that this role is no where near as technical as it's made out to be in the interview. Work/Life Balance - Basically non existent. You're expected to be on call 24/7, be regularly updating tickets on nights and weekends, as well as being available for overtime everyday. While the expectation of any IT job is to be ready to put in extra hours, the expectation here leaves no time for any sort of balance. Every team meeting, the VP stated that the team needs to clear any upcoming plans outside of business hours, in order to be on stand by or to be on site. This became a regular demand, not a request. On top of this, vacation requests were routinely denied, with reasons cited that go against the company time off policy. It is frowned upon if you're not basically living from your desk. Leadership - The leadership of the Information Technologies is non-existent. There are some serious communication issues that are not being addressed, and in the span of 1 1/2 years, 4 members of the Information Technologies team have chosen to resign. There is a clear lack of management experience in this department. There is no room for professional growth and there is no room for promotions within this department.
