Lots of opportunity to increase value and work uo the ladder to a higher level role.

Long commute, not the strongest compensation value.

Although pay may not be competitive initially, generally speaking if you are a "performer" it will go up fairly quickly over time, but of course that is all relative. They do support personal growth say getting an advanced degree while on the job. You need to apply of course for it and their are limited slots, and the degree will be on your own personal time. (there is of course a work commitment after the fact). Depending on the project you support. People are generally very service/goal oriented and want to do their best with the resources they have.

Teleworking from out of state/out of country even with lower level management support generally is not supported. The acquisition process for software/hardware is cumbersome paperwork/process wise. Nice perks to enter military bases with ID to watch free movies that are showing out in town about a month after release. Lower level leadership generally care and support the employee and realize they are the ones that gets things done and really try and go above and beyond to support the employee (at least in my general experience), but depending upon the issue, sometimes upper level management is in the chop chain and although the request may make sense at the lower deck plate levels, sometimes consistency and higher level considerations may override certain requests (e.g. telework as an example)
