1. very hierarchical, no autonomy 2. people overly protective of turf because things so poorly defined 3. promotion/advancement based on who you know (allies) rather than performance or ability 4. things change every few months so you cannot get used to things; then you have a new boss 5. a lot of political games (maneuvering) because at its heart this company doesn't do a lot 6. people in management positions who have no experience managing staff or of the subject and don't belong there (only placed where they are due to a friend)
