Following the acquisition by Sage and subsequent changes in leadership, there was a noticeable shift in the work environment. While I still had positive experiences collaborating with old teams and new teams, there were challenges arising from shifts in local NA leadership and Sage UK teams killing off Sage Intacct teams.
The changes resulted in limited opportunities for career advancement, as management seemed to dictate career paths rather than empowering individuals to chart their own growth, and work being handed over to UK teams. Micromanagement became prevalent. Cross-collaboration was micromanaged, and project allocation became less available and restricted, leading to a reduction in opportunities for professional development and advancement. Additionally, previous contributions to the company seemed to lose visibility and recognition, under the new management structure, There was also little to no recognition for your current work as well, leading to a sense of working without visibility or appreciation under the new management.
Overall, while my initial experience at Sage Intacct was rewarding, the post-acquisition changes introduced some organizational challenges that affected the overall work experience.
