Vantaggi

* Not micro-managed by QA. * Supportive contacts at company (Team Leader, Head of QA, HR director, etcetera). * Expectations clearly defined and honored.

Svantaggi

* Took a long time to get my direct deposit changed over when I moved states, from Arizona to Georgia. * Pay is low (but profession standard in 2024). * Only way to do some things on my evening time slot is to contact our crew abroad (India) on message board; sometimes my US crew is available while I work, sometimes not.

Vantaggi

Work from home, training was good

Svantaggi

Extremely low pay, no raises, crappy hours (a pay differential for nighttime and weekend hours would be nice). They take accounts away from you. You just log in one day and bam, the account is gone. It takes so long to learn these accounts and all these doctors and get used to them, then they take the account away from you. They don't even tell you they did it. They assign way too many accounts also. I think two would be fine. When I left, I think I was up to six accounts, and the way they were talking, it sounded like more were going to be assigned to me. When I asked about a raise one time, the response I got was "We don't give raises here." No reason or explanation as to why. You're hired on as an employee but still get paid per line versus per hour, which amounts to very little. They've figured out how many lines you have to type per hour to meet minimum wage, which is what you get paid, minimum wage. They continue to offer a day position on their website of Tues-Sat but that position is never available. Selecting the correct visit information on the reports is just plain stupid and takes forever to learn. Their job ad indicates you must have ESL experience, which isn't a problem for most MTs. What it doesn't mention is that you also need experience with unintelligible dictations with extremely poor audio quality, which is not the same as ESL experience. They just continue to allow these doctors to send in horrible audio, making the transcriptionist's lives very difficult and extremely stressful.
