Like many companies growing from small to medium, it can be tough to push through the changes needed to keep moving forward. The pre-acquisition executive team express a desire to make changes, but they most often fall back on old habits, processes, and tools that hold the company back. They might not have seen better ways or different approaches and often don't fully embrace the fresh perspectives from staff brought in to take SambaSafety to the next level.

I enjoyed working here at first, but over time the office politics became difficult to ignore. Advancement opportunities are limited here, and it seemed like promotion decisions are more personal than based on professional ability. There was also high tendency to shift blame and create scapegoats instead of address the root cause of problems, which made it hard to feel like SambaSafety was ever a good career choice. Heavy documentation is important at this company, as narratives will shift often and firing does happen often. The company has some good people, but I didn't see it as a place to build a long-term career. Executive team often pointed out that 2-3 years was a lifetime at SambaSafety and to keep resumes updated. That was my first red flag. In the end, the stress and internal politics outweighed the positives.
