When you try to negotiate regarding the salary, they do not respond, but rather they make an offer to another candidate. So, Scotiabank offers the same position to two (or more) different candidates, a dishonest practice. 5. After making an offer, Scotiabank can come back to you later and say that the offer is rescinded, no discussion permitted, and that the position has been given to someone else. Whether or not you have already made plans to relocate or to quit your job or turned down other opportunities does not matter to Scotiabank. 6. Scotiabank does not offer pharmacy insurance to employees in the first year, even though the Ontario provincial insurance plan does not cover prescription medications, and it is standard in Ontario for a business, particularly a huge one like Scotiabank, to offer pharmacy insurance. 7. The salary that Scotiabank offers is well below market rates and those of its competitors. 8. Scotiabank's Human Resources bureaucracy seems to bungle things: for example, I received a notification that I had not been selected for a position weeks after I was selected for that position.
