Vantaggi

Health insurance is really the only benefit. But goodluck getting time off to visit the doctor!

Svantaggi

Seems like the only folks willing to take (and remain) in these positions at Scotiabank are young folks undecided in life that get sold a dream that if they work hard they will rise to a position actually worth being there. This is partially true but totally not worth the pittance of a pay you receive for said hard work. The pay is REALLY LOW! REALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY LOW! You cannot have a family to support, bills to pay, goals of saving money while working here! It is almost impossible. Even overtime is paid at the same base rate as your regular hours. Is that legal? BUT, if your dream job is sales, then go for it! This job is more about sales of products and services than transactional processing. But its not commissioned based, so forget about being duly compensated for bringing in new business. Also there is a trickle down effect of pressure where the lower staff members are often aggressively intimidated by management to work harder to keep branch numbers where they should be. Scotiabank Trinidad has no union, so management can practically do what they want...invent new rules by the day, and you HAVE to follow it. or else... It is a tense, strict and micromanaged place to work. And I would not recommend working there as a lower-level employee.
