- Some teams have a very toxic work environment and we keep hiring mediocre people at the VP+ level. - The amount of micromanaging is absolutely ridiculous. Processes often get in the way of productivity. - Poor tech infrastructure. - Very hierarchical, deferential and, in turn, inefficient. - Lots of people who are lifelong Scotiabankers, think the bank is the best there can be, and are very resistant to meaningful change. - Painful transformation process underway. The hope is that it will lead to a better organization, but I’m not entirely sure that will be the case.
