No official training, i.e. courses, and very little development - for a organisation who employ a vast number of technical, skilled and specialist staff this is hugely disappointing and a massive let down to the organisation and their role in providing some level of expertise in protecting the environment. Only training available is in soft skills. There is no investment in staff at all and very few opportunities to develope or progress in your career. Dysfunctional middle and top management - another review describes management as sycophants, which is sadly pretty accurate for some. A lot of ego's making a huge mess whilst meddling in various work processes and leaving the management and ground workers to deal with the fallout and tidy up the mess. Their arrogance neglects communication with the end users. A whole workforce with zero guidance - still too many staff floating under the radar for the last 4 years with very little guidance, very little work structure and very few duties whilst the rest of the work force picks up their slack. This behaviour can be seen across many grades and contributes to diminished communication across people, teams and departments and an over worked and burned-out rest of the work force. Consistently terrible communication - as described above but also, top management spend very little time getting to know their teams and understand the work that they do. There is a huge disconnect between top management and middle management and the staff on the ground. Non existent HR department - does exist but good luck getting hold of anyone or getting whatever it is you require of them done correctly or in a timely manner. Forget any other forms of support.
