- compensation compared to responsibilities/expectations is weak at best - stated values don't always translate into practical application - too busy trying to 're-invent' themselves - difficult to maintain consistency in performance due to all the regular changes and 'new ideas' to achieve the unattainable - unrealistic growth expectation in categories where they already dominate and have little market share even AVAILABLE to gain - watered down brand value/equity due to co-branding private label (or less than premium product) with premium brand labeling (e.g. store brand includes 'Ortho' label or private label with 'Scotts' moniker competing on the same shelf with premium Scotts products).
