For the most part the employees here are good to work with, with some notable exceptions. Seibels also pays somewhat above average for the area and the benefits are decent.

Seibels has become a toxic work place. Ten years ago the employees mattered. Now the recently renovated building is more important the the occupants of the building. Most of the perks of working there are gone and only the headaches remain. Seibels will likely be out of business within five years. They are having a real brain drain, with all of their key employees leaving. In recent history they've had 4 CIOs and 3 CEOs. They can't keep a director of the Project Management department and the company is without a software architect, having run off or fired three of them in the last year or so. Consequently all projects are constantly missing deadlines and the teams lack direction. The current CEO (the company owner) doesn't understand his business domain. He is famous for saying "I don't know insurance or technology but I hire people who do." I would add to that "But I won't listen to their advice." That is why the company is in the shape it is in.

You are correct that we are interested in investing in our building because it is the hub of our operations and a landmark building in Columbia, SC. We give our team members the best workplace environment possible. It is never our intention for team members to feel like the building is more important than them; it is unfortunate you feel this way. Investing in our historical building is one way leadership demonstrated its investment in the company’s short and long-term success. We also recently invested in our technology portfolio to provide our clients and team members with the best systems in the marketplace. This future-proofing effort is another example of our commitment to the company’s success. We serve our customers and their policyholders, and we do that in the best way possible. No promotion unless you were unprofessionally close to somebody in the wrong way They didn’t care nor respect minorities They put up a large picture on the 2nd floor of a rusted link chain and cotton
