The internship is unpaid and depending on the policy team you are placed in, the hours can exceed those outlined in your internship agreement.

It's the best way to really experience the Hill, but in an international relations environment. You'll focus on one subcommittee so you'll get real experience in one region. The best part of the internship was the amount of interesting and official meetings I was able to sit in on.

Not as much research experience as I had hoped. Your experience also really depended on what subcommittee you worked for because every Legislative Assistant was different regarding the amount of work they gave to interns.
