Great place. Lots of fun fun

Terrible. Misleading and sad environment

The PYD program was well developed and teaching PYD was relaxing and rewarding. The students were well behaved. They consistently showed respect and gratitude for the program and teachers. Lesson plans and worksheets were already made so I had time to focus on my students’ individual needs. Each unit followed the same pattern so I was able to master the lesson plans and experiment with new activities. I had more than enough time during work hours to focus on professional development by researching new ideas to use in the classroom. I had an active social life on the Sadoun compound where the Shabaka teachers live. I was a regular yoga student, soccer player, basketball player, and gym goer on the compound. While I wasn’t doing physical activities, I had time to focus on online courses, read books, watch TV shows, and socialize with other teachers. I ate great food within walking distance from the compound at Afghani, Pakistani, Yemeni, and Turkish restaurants on a daily basis.

Things can get boring here sometimes and it can be a struggle to stay positive when there aren't many outlets to let off some steam.
