A pool of highly talented people scrambling to not get fired. you work with some intelligent and creative people , it's unfortunate that those traits don't count for much.

Shaw academy suffers from a lot of issues particularly around management of people . It's extremely high turnover means that there is never a knowledge base there to learn from and improve courses or systems within the organisation. The high turnover causes major disruption with entire departments being let go with no warning. The Portuguese department has been let go and a new team was hired 3 times since Christmas. There are numerous "black Friday" events where upwards of ten people are let go . The worst such event where about 25 were let go was immediately followed by a speech announcing that they were more profitable than ever. a few days after announcing 200 jobs. The panic surrounding people being let go means nobody knows what is going on or is required for particular tasks No requirements are fully given . You are expected to just know what is required . Entire tasks are given like 'add a button ' with no instruction as to what it should do or say or where it should go. The CEO leads by intimidation . Often sending rude and swear filled emails and threats . His favorite threat being 'this will affect you financially' The 'bonus ' ( called commission in the contract ) has no transparency and as I was given no KPIs seemed to be randomly assigned. I have also witnessed outright sexism from the Indian team and hiring of people over there because they were cheap but didn't have the skills or experience to do the job Moving goalposts. Fuzzy instructions often complete failure in communication from management. Often seen Abusive and intimidating emails from CEO all make for a hostile work environment where rude and bullying behavior is encouraged because 'it gets things done' Complex Projects are often given with a days notice with no consideration of other priority tasks. Complaints about there not being enough resources or time have been countered with 'I was leaving at half 8 and none of you were at your desk ' There is a disheartening lack of focus on the quality of the product itself with everything being a quick fix and solely focused on pushing sales. Between the customer service team being laid off and educators forced to make sales calls rather than preparing and improving their courses. as well as new hires being expected to provide live courses within hours of being hired. Projects are often abandoned before they can even tell if they are successfull. when this happens jobs are lost Finally, there is the impression from the management that if you are not on the phone making sales calls you are a parasite wasting time and money. if your role is admin or it you are a second class citizen and often ignored.

I'd never forget my working experience here at Shaw Academy. It was the worst experience I had in my entire career. A whole day is definitely not enough for the amount of work that you need to accomplish. There's no work-life balance because all you'll be able to do in your life is to work. It was the most exhausting times of my life and looking back, I wished I quit earlier and didn't have to suffer longer.

Teaching what you love is probably the only good thing there.

Management. Sell or you are fired. Unrealistic working hours. Mass firing and people leaving the office like it was an exodus of people.
