Vantaggi
- Great developer experience with in-house managed CI and dev instances, which makes working with the code base pretty easy. - Pretty good comp (EMEA), with the option of customising take home vs. equity compensation balance. - Good support for WFH setup on joining. - Great colleagues. Everyone's an expert in their field, and very approachable. Lots of inter-colleague support post redundancies. - Good support for personal development.
Svantaggi
- Size and structure makes it hard to find the right people sometimes. - Every few months, some new sweeping change comes across the org. Sometimes for the best (e.g. comp system), sometimes for the worst (e.g. Workplace adoption, at the cost of Slack), and others yet to be evaluated (new ways of categorising "mastery" and "scope" of your role). - Elephant in the room, two large rounds of layoffs within a year. It's hard to feel optimistic about the company's future, especially from an employee perspective. They overhired, and threw a curveball at thousands of people. - Lots of cost cutting around team meetups, even though some folks were struggling to have an annual meetup, where other employees were jetting off on a monthly basis. - Very US/Canada focused, despite globally distributed teams. EMEA felt like an afterthought in terms of scheduling anything.
