Vantaggi

I'm a full-time employee of Solace. Reviews on Glassdoor will come from two parties: either my corporate team or from our team of independent Healthcare Advocates. Solace is truly mission-driven. I feel it in talking with all my colleagues and hearing it from Jeremy, our CEO or the rest of the leadership team. We all believe in making the healthcare system more navigable with the help of an advocate. Overall: *Massive market opportunity. We're in on the ground floor of a major shift in how care is managed and the economic opportunity has incredibly high upside. Equity will hopefully be worth a lot long term. *Pace is fast and so we innovate very quickly. No red tape and easy to get buy-in to experiment and push for success. *Mission, Vision, Values, Tenets and team/individual Goals are clear. We know what we need to do and how to do it. Culture: *"We're intense" means focused on achieving the mission. My coworkers are talented, fun, and easy to collaborate with. Everyone does what it takes to get the job done, *"Anti-meeting culture" just means less meetings, more heads-down for deep work Benefits: *Solid benefits for a scaling startup in year 3 of business, includes 401k match *Remote setup is a huge benefit plus full company offsite 1x per year

Svantaggi

*Company all hands happens at most 1x per month from what I've seen so far. Weekly leadership emails are highly-detailed but dense and a lengthy overall read. *Not a lot of face time with leaders from other departments. It's highly dependent on your own initiative to connect with them with real purpose and if they have bandwidth to meet. *Base compensation is fair and close to median. Competition may provide higher base pay. *Parental leave policy has not been instituted. I've heard it may be shorter than many competitor vc-backed tech companies. *Diversity & inclusion has not been a major topic in my first month here, but I hope that will change. I see some diversity on our team, especially women in leadership. I'd like to hear company commitment to building a diverse team long term. I don't know how we stack up in comparison to the market today.

Vantaggi

We have transparent company goals, and great opportunity for career advancement. I feel trusted and supported by my team. The people we collaborate with are humble and open to suggestions/process improvements.

Svantaggi

There are lot of moving pieces with the growth we're experiencing- if you have questions, you need to seek your own answers at times.

Vantaggi

Flexibility in schedule- I make my own schedule and work remote. There is a good support system from Solace administration and other healthcare advocates. Definitely great job for self-starters. It feels good to help people get access to care and create better quality of life.

Svantaggi

If you're new to this type of work, it can be a learning curve. The healthcare system is broken and frustrating so it can be a frustrating job to try to support patients because of that. The company is great but the job itself has it's challenges, so it's a good job for someone who can roll with the punches and get creative on problem-solving. Obtaining access to communicate with healthcare teams on behalf of patients has it's challenges but it's worth the speed bumps to help the patients. But honestly, if it can be challenging for us nurses to help advocate for patients, imagine the frustration and discouragement the patients are experiencing trying to do it on their own. Any frustrating experience I have with providers/etc. I realize my patient is experiencing times 10, so it makes it worth it. You should be good at managing your own time and are organized to do this role well.
