There used to be many good reasons to work at SolarCity before they went public. Mostly is was great people working around you. Since going public it has become one of the worst places to work I have ever experienced. The metrics focused company now treats its employees like a number.

The pay is lower across the board than similar industries. There is no leadership anymore. If you like passing the buck around then you will love working here. The installers are the best group of people in the company, but they are overworked and constantly asked to "do more" with no increase in pay. The corporate level people are insincere and fake. They like to spend any chance of profit flying around the country patting themselves on the back.
