      Starbrst is based on a powerful open source data lake query engine, but it takes waaaaaaaaaay more than a few federated and fast queries to build a true solution. The company is built on a flawed model and while the people are great, individually collectively it's a really toxic culture where trust and collaboration are scarce....

      while the sales strategy is well conceived, the actual execution is completely disconnected from reality. Entire Sales teams have been given quotas that are unrealistic boarding on nonsensical. While i hope the strategy pays off i don't see a successful future!!

      - Still fully remote (as of early 2026) - There are many teams with great chemistry, often smaller department teams and some cross functional teams. - Surrounded by smart, talented coworkers - Some amount of career growth is possible if it aligns with the company

      - The product organization greatly improved communication and process from late 2024 to late 2025. Recent changes within leadership and overall priorities have nullified much of these improvements. - Poor follow up on certain projects within the product org - Recent shifts in culture have made product and engineering unhappy. This has created a noticeable internal instability.
