Vantaggi

The work itself was fun as well as getting to meet with clients. There's a few opportunities to try and learn new things.

Svantaggi

The office environment is quiet and very structured (which might be a pro for some, however it's also adds a lot of unneccesary stress). While the work itself was fun, it's hard to do particularly well when there's a deadline and very little communication. There's very poor communication thoughout the office, which then leaks in to work for the clients. For being a 'creative' agency, it's very sterile and structured. Also, don't start packing up before 5:00pm, because there's no wiggle room. The constant pressure of trying to get more and more new client work makes the current client work suffer. Plus it puts a lot of pressure on the designers/developers to complete a project quickly rather than doing it correctly. Benefits are almost non-existent, other than the location in the Third Ward and occasional donut.

Vantaggi

There was a lot of room to specialize. The boss is big into declaring somebody to be a particular product expert. If you want to do 95% magento work, it could be a great opportunity. You are also expected to occasionally work over 40 hours in a week but it is not the norm.

Svantaggi

The hounds seemed to be continually at the door. The boss is continually hammering you to keep your weekly billable time high, with the threat of being laid-off not only implied but explicitly stated. This isn't something that a non-sales person can necessarily do anything about. The boss is strict about your shift starting at 8:00, lunch going from 12:00 to 1:00, and your shift ending at 5:00. He is also strict about things like not eating food at your computer. Telecommuting is not allowed and your movements during the day are watched to an extent. The health benefits and paid time off are a bit stingy. I think that goes back to the issue of the hounds being continually at the door.
