Whatever the reason do not seek a job at this place. The entire culture of this place has changed. They have made it clear that everyone is expendable. Of course they do not have the courage to say this to the employees, but once you look within yourself you will determine that they are not stupid, they push you into another job because they know you will quit. No blood on their hands. It use to be a place where you could have a good job and raise a family. Hey management don't you think you owe it to your employees to see their family, I mean you got to see your kids play sports, must have been nice. The are slowly pushing everyone into claims because they know it stinks, they have made it this way. Also nice that you get ride of all departments that are a resource when an employee needs help, bye HR, bye Process, bye IT. Unless you owe a large debt to your bookie, need a major medical procedure, or just a person that enjoys abuse in no way can I recommend you working at any State Farm Claims location.

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
