The onboarding process was easy and efficient.

My training consisted of 2 evenings working alongside a supervisor, where she walked me through the medical facilities and showed me the basics. Third night, I was on my own with keys to everything and could call for help if I needed it. My questions regarding infection cleaning, biohazardous materials, industry standards for making sure I was effectively cleaning things, were all met with shrugs and don't-worry-about-its. I went home the first evening and researched on my own because it's important to me to understand my job and to know how to do it well. It seemed like cleaning medical offices and an urgent care would have special rules. I found the company blog quickly and it highlighted specialized training, law compliance, and certifications for the company staff-none of which was shared with me at hire or hinted that it was coming in the future. I stuck it out a few more days hoping to get some insight and comfort level with the process but ultimately decided that I couldn't live with the minimal cleaning that I was being told to do. Using one rag for all surfaces in a doctor's exam room and then carrying it into the next room seemed a recipe for disaster. Maybe the chemicals killed all bacteria on contact and I wasn't carrying anything anywhere, but I couldn't get my questions answered easily and quickly got the message that I was there to make it look good, not to sanitize, disinfect or truly clean. To be fair, this could have been one specific supervisor and perhaps the company as a whole is fine. It's the only time I've left a company with no notice and I do regret that. I sent an email to the woman who hired me, so she would have the opportunity to correct the supervisor if they were in fact not representing the company accurately. I did not receive a response.
