Some colleagues in the same department tend to act as if newcomers don’t know what they’re doing. They often make assumptions and correct people publicly in group chats or meetings without verifying the facts first. When they turn out to be wrong, they just ignore it instead of apologizing. It would be much more professional to clarify things directly or ask first before reacting. The way they handle things adds unnecessary pressure and makes us feel like we’ve made a huge mistake, even when we’re simply following what was taught during training. These senior staff often insist that we follow their personal way of doing things instead of the proper process. That’s not healthy — a good leader should guide, support, and allow new team members to learn and improve, not belittle or discourage them.
