Vantaggi

Managers are friendly and supportive. One of the most reliable aspects of Sutherland is the consistency in getting paid—rarely, if ever, are there issues with payroll.

Svantaggi

Unfortunately, career growth is extremely limited—especially if you’re based in the U.S. Many leadership opportunities are reserved for overseas programs, which seem to get priority. It often feels like U.S. employees are being overlooked as companies move jobs offshore to cut costs, rather than investing in local talent. Even when you work hard and move into a leadership role, getting promoted to something like a Team Manager can feel out of reach—especially if you don’t fit a certain look or background. There’s a lack of diversity and fairness in how leadership roles are assigned. One silver lining is that if your program shuts down, Sutherland will try to place you on another one. But if you’re in management or higher, and there’s no open role available, they expect you to start over in a lower position—which is incredibly discouraging. After putting in all that work, no one wants to start from scratch.

Vantaggi

Remote work and great coworkers

Svantaggi

Extremely low pay for the amount of work and the type of calls that you have to deal with. Lots of mircomanaging. Unrealistic metrics. Lack of knowledge and competency from leadership because at no point should your workers know more than you about the job itself. No care for unforseen life circumstances that affect your ability to work. Very stressful and mentally exhausting which often leads to burnout. No recognition for hard work and meeting metric goals. Too hard to get PTO approved. Tech and internal systems are always breaking which affects your ability to do your job. No one is ever on the same page which often leads to being given incorrect information. No room for growth or opportunities to go into other roles. Benefits are not that great. Mid health insurance plans, no 401K match, no parental leave, and no internet reimbursements. They'll sell you a fairytale in training so BEWARE.
