Great Overtime rates. After 5pm went to 1.15 normal salary = $28.18 After 5pm on Friday went to 1.3x normal rate = $31.20 After Midnight Friday to Midnight Sunday went to 1.5x normal rate = $36.75

Extremely repetitive job, dealing with rude abusive people at times. No rewards system or acknowledgement for your job. Get's very emotionally draining at times, grave yard shifts do take their toll on your body and mental state at times.

The nicest thing I can say is that just about anyone can get a job as a taxi driver.

So I was a taxi driver with swan for two years. Technically cabbies are not employees, they are contractors, which is a convenient way of swan wiping their hands of any problems you may have. However you are inextricably tied to their staff, headquarters, and infrastructure so it's much the same experience whether you are a "contractor" or an employee proper. With that out of the way, this is by far the most unhappy and dysfunctional workplace I have ever experienced. Management treats their reception, training, operations, and accounts staff ilke absolute dirt. The turnover of staff is large and consistent. I think because of the negative overtones that are passed down from the very top, this creates a negative workplace culture which then permeates every interaction you have in this building. Thankfully I never had any real disputes or incidents, but God help anybody who did. There was a kangaroo court which issued disciplinary and more importantly, financial, penalties to drivers for any rule violations, and their decisions were binding and could not be appealed. This has nothing to do with driving on the road as a cabbie, that's an experience of its own, but this company is just flabberghasting for how it treats its staff. I could go on and on, but don't take my word for it. Ask any swan cabbie, staff member, or dept of transport what sort of company swan taxis is... They will tell you!
