Bad dispatch, bad safety department and even worse upper management. They will work you hard for little to nothing but if you're truly trying to learn something take your time and absorb everything. Call every shipper, receiver and load planner to update them on when you will be there and possibly get loaded/unloaded hours or even days earlier (it was rare that a receiver would ever deny me and my co drivers). Stay communicative is the moral of the story and you will be successful.
