The time that T-Systems International takes to implement its strategy is too slow, which impacts its near-shore locations such as Slovakia which considered to be a "Point of Production" for the parent company. The management style, which is related to the Slovak and German culture, is predominately a commanding style which doesn't give much possibility for people to develop. There is a lot of bureaucracy and politics will stunt the growth of any new ideas. Much of the communication is top downwards without much chance for the communication to go from down upwards which may be listened to, but won't progress any further. There is a constant downward pressure on salaries and benefits because it is a "cost centre" for the parent company, meaning that many people are working there just to pay the bills and don't want to end up on the huge unemployment pile, which is about 15% average for the whole country. Foreigners in management positions (except people from Germany) are not made to feel welcome and may be discriminated against.
