Lots of happy hours and drinking lots of alcohol is part of their company culture. They keep beer in the fridge and drink Friday afternoons. TEK reimburses your lunches out with contractors. They send you out to a nice training environment for a week and you get a 3k bonus upon completion.

I cannot speak for TEKsystems as an organization, but I can speak to the Madison, WI office. BEWARE! Leadership is truly awful. Instead of promoting people into management positions based on leadership capabilities and the aptitude to mentor and coach others, they promote purely based on producing a number. As a recruiter you will be treated as a pee-on. If you are not interested in becoming an account manager there is no other promotion option locally. Regarding hiring they only care about what you look like and not what is in your brain. They would hire a monkey if it looked great and could pick up the phone. They are also very petty and a judgmental group as a whole. It reminded me of sorority recruitment. This particular office has not seen any growth in over 20 years. There are a few people in the office that make money and the rest just continue to quit after a year or so. Attrition rate is horrible. Unlike the Account Manager position where strict territories are drawn, all recruiters compete against each other over the same pool of candidates. Since this is a commission based role it is not in the recruiters best interest to help their peers. They will give you some weird explanation on how directly competing against each other is a good thing...a lot of "drink the Kool-Aid" stuff. At times it seemed like people were "brain washed." Worst of all, despite internal rules and policies against this, a lot of the employees are sleeping with each other which can make things really weird. Especially when certain people get promoted after sleeping with a certain manager.... Overall, if you are a "cut your throat to get ahead" type or are a very money-centered individual then you might have a chance enjoying your time there and the people you work with. Just remember....mo money mo problems!

- The benefits suck. - High recruiter turnover with highly variable experience trying to work with them-- some are good, most are not. - Once you are placed, you will be promised regular meetings and then never hear from the recruiter again. - Trying to find a new contract if you are unhappy with your current placement is nearly impossible and I don't believe they are incentivized to help you move at all. - You have to manually request a raise and depending on how you negotiated your contract, you may or may not have the ability to receive one. - There is a cap to how much they will pay you for the contract so even if you work that position 4 years, once you hit that cap you are stuck. I originally submitted my resume with TekSystems when I had finished my degree and never heard back. Many years later, I was approached on LinkedIn by a TekSystems recruiter for a position and he had no idea I was in the system previously. Working with him was good, and I did get the position. Then I never heard from him again and I've had 4 or 5 different recruiters whose names I could not tell you if I tried since then. There's supposed to be monthly calls, they never happen.
