Working internal at tek is both great and terrible. It is great in the following ways: 1. Excellent training, I'd recommend a recruiter/sales job there to anyone graduating college 2. Resume builder, if you can stick it out for 5 years you can go anywhere 3. Excellent earning potential (please see this also in the negative section) 4. So high stress and fast paced if you can make it here you can make it anywhere (and other companies know that too (hence the stick it out for 3-5 years) 5. If you are one of the very lucky few that get taken under someone's wing, who truly wants to help you and not just use you, you can actually move up the company ladder.

Where do I begin, well I begin with this, if you plan on making this a long term investment, don't, because they won't do the same for you. You are a piece in a chess game so be sure to use them as much as they use you. 1. High undue stress, and extreme useless time consumption. I spent more time stressing over the fear of losing my job, being threatened with losing my job and people stabbing me in the back while I was the highest performer in my role here than anywhere else, ever. Also I spent more time in meetings and meeting about meetings, and on conference calls talking to redundant job title positions (healthcare director, regional applications director, regional network director, etc, etc than doing my job. So much so I had to work on the weekends or until 7pm most nights to do my actual work. 2. Earning potential, it use to be a very very lucrative place to work but with all the failed acquisitions of the parent company, the extremely bloated middle management level, and now over all size of the company they've found the only place to cut from is the sales department. It really hurts when a company that keeps 85-95% of the profit decides to take 50% of your 10% back. 3. The diversity and inclusion backfire. The company is pushing so hard on diversity and inclusion that they are giving undue advantages to anyone that falls into that category, letting them accelerate their careers faster, or letting them remain in positions longer after complete failure than their non diverse non included counterparts. So technically this can be a pro or a con depending where you find yourself on the diversity/inclusion standpoint. 4. The company talks a huge game about honesty, honor, ethics, etc, I was let go one week after reporting a sexual harassment charge, so yeah there's that. 5. They will constantly threaten you with your job, you'll get the classic "maybe you don't belong here", "do you know how lucky you are to be here", "this isn't your company", "you don't deserve this opportunity". Mind you you'll get this speech right after breaking a company/office record or goal. It's to constantly humble/intimidate you into believing you honestly owe them more than the 60+/hrs per week you work, more than leaving a dying loved one's side to attend a pointless meeting that "really impacts your career here", it's to make you feel you cannot succeed outside their walls. FYI read any literature about how to start a cult, same way, a little high five for a success then constant fear of failure beyond the walls but I digress there. 6. Your overall health. Both mental and physical. I could go into great detail here but I lost 15lbs, stopped losing my hair, blood pressure dropped dramatically, all after leaving tek.

- Decent pay to start. - Account manager is responsive, engaging, and a serious advocate for you and your contract. - Gain access to Udemy Business to build more skills.

- The benefits suck. - High recruiter turnover with highly variable experience trying to work with them-- some are good, most are not. - Once you are placed, you will be promised regular meetings and then never hear from the recruiter again. - Trying to find a new contract if you are unhappy with your current placement is nearly impossible and I don't believe they are incentivized to help you move at all. - You have to manually request a raise and depending on how you negotiated your contract, you may or may not have the ability to receive one. - There is a cap to how much they will pay you for the contract so even if you work that position 4 years, once you hit that cap you are stuck. I originally submitted my resume with TekSystems when I had finished my degree and never heard back. Many years later, I was approached on LinkedIn by a TekSystems recruiter for a position and he had no idea I was in the system previously. Working with him was good, and I did get the position. Then I never heard from him again and I've had 4 or 5 different recruiters whose names I could not tell you if I tried since then. There's supposed to be monthly calls, they never happen.
