TEK is basically the "Good Ole' Boys Club" I write this review with mixed emotions, reflecting on my tenure at TEKsystems. While my professional journey has been marked by meaningful contributions and dedication, it has also been marred by glaring racial disparities in career progression. Despite my unwavering commitment and consistent performance, I've observed a persistent pattern where individuals of color, particularly African Americans face significant hurdles in securing promotions. This unfortunate reality has led me to question the company's commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. I've witnessed individuals with less experience, often ill-equipped and less skilled, being rapidly promoted to senior management and directorial roles. These promotions seem to occur with alarming frequency, even when such individuals have caused disruptions in the workplace. This raises serious concerns about the company's decision-making process and its commitment to rewarding competence and merit. Racial Disparities in Leadership: It is disheartening to note that the leadership team lacks diversity, especially at senior levels. The absence of African Americans in leadership positions reflects a systemic issue that goes beyond individual career paths. While Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives exist, their impact appears limited, with initiatives falling short in creating visible and meaningful changes. Debunking the Illusion of Inclusivity: Despite the existence of DEI programs, their impact remains elusive. Conversations around diversity and inclusion rarely translate into actionable outcomes that support the underrepresented. The lack of transparency and visibility of these initiatives only perpetuates the impression that they are merely superficial gestures. In conclusion, it is with a heavy heart that I express my disappointment in the company's seemingly biased approach to career advancement. I hope that this review serves as a catalyst for change, prompting the company to reassess its practices and genuinely commit to creating an equitable and inclusive environment for all its employees.
