They only did reviews for pay and advancement once a year. They did not pay you based on your proven abilities, they paid you based on your "rank." And, as I was told "you've only been a "___" for 1 year, they won't promote you 2 years in a row." I was also told that I am very lucky to have received 4 out of 5 on a few categories on my review, "most people never see a 4, and nobody will ever get a 5."
