Vantaggi
The people are fantastic - lots of friendly, hard working, talented employees. The CEO has a strong vision for where he wants the company to go. There's free breakfast and lunches there and lots of fun parties and free swag.
Svantaggi
Upper management constantly talks about how much money the company is making but most employees never see any of that money. They wouldn't even match our 401Ks! Unless you're a "favorite" employee, you'll never be promoted and they don't seem to care about anybody's personal career growth. There are a ton of people working long hours who are never acknowledged or rewarded while the "favorites" can do whatever they want like work from home or go on sabbatical. The executives seem very out of touch about what is going on in certain departments and why employees might want to leave. They're in complete denial. If they just took the time to really talk to people, they'd realize what they needed to fix instead of just putting out fires. In many ways, they're still functioning like a small start-up but now that they've grown considerably in such a short period of time, they should train managers better and make a lot of key changes or they'll continue to lose great employees that could have made substantial contributions to the company's continued success.
